Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
VODRaven is a desktop app that runs on your own computer. We built it so your videos and settings stay with you. This policy explains what little information we handle and why.
Who we are
VODRaven is made by [LEGAL NAME], based in [PROVINCE], Canada. "We" and "us" in this policy mean [LEGAL NAME]. [LEGAL NAME] is responsible for how VODRaven handles personal information, and you can reach us about privacy at support@vodraven.com.
What stays on your computer
The videos you download, the transcripts, the clips VODRaven makes, your settings, and your API keys are all stored on your PC, in your Windows user folder. We don't receive any of it.
What the app sends, and to whom
To do its job, VODRaven connects to these services directly from your PC. Each one uses your own account or key, and its own privacy policy applies:
- Anthropic (Claude): the transcript text of a stream, sent with your API key so Claude can choose the moments. No video or audio is sent.
- Twitch and YouTube: to download the VODs you ask for and to check your watched channels for new streams.
- Google and the YouTube Data API (optional, only if you connect them): you sign in to Google in your browser, and Google gives VODRaven a token that only lets it upload videos to your channel. The token is saved on your PC. VODRaven then sends the clips you choose to upload, with their titles and descriptions, to YouTube.
- ElevenLabs or Microsoft Edge text-to-speech (only for story shorts): the script text, to generate a voiceover.
- Pexels (optional): search terms, to find stock background footage.
- vodraven.com: every few hours, and when you click Check for updates, the app asks whether there's a new version. When you choose to install one, it downloads the installer from our release server. These requests include your IP address and the app version, like any web request.
VODRaven also downloads a few files it needs to work. These are ordinary downloads: they include your IP address, like any web request, and nothing about your videos.
- Hugging Face: the Whisper speech-recognition model, the first time you transcribe a video.
- GitHub: the face-detection model used for vertical framing, the first time you make a clip.
- The Python Package Index (PyPI): NVIDIA's CUDA libraries, only if you install the optional GPU pack. They're covered by NVIDIA's license.

How long we keep information
